Welcome to Myakka River Elementary, Home of the Mighty Manatees!

I am honored to be returning to serve the students, staff, and families of our community. 

I have lived in the Englewood community since 1997, raised my family here and served at both the elementary and middle school level as a classroom teacher, reading coach, and school leader for the last 27 years. The past six years, I served in the School District of Lee County as a School Turn-Around Principal and Principal Lead. Although I loved my time there, I am incredibly excited to return to Charlotte County and more specifically, Myakka River. I was a classroom teacher here for ten years as well as Assistant Principal for two years. Both of my own children went to school here and recently graduated from LBHS.

My office is always open and I encourage you to come visit us. You can ask to speak with me directly any time you have questions or concerns. I welcome you to come get involved in your child’s educational experience. 

I look forward to getting to know all of our Manatees and working together to make Myakka an even better place for students and staff to learn, lead, and succeed!

As a school leader, I will teach and inspire my students through creativity and enthusiasm, as well as  assist in developing the skills needed to become lifelong learners.  Creating a positive school environment encourages all students to grow and develop through fun, challenging, and exciting learning experiences.  I set high attainable goals for all students and staff because I believe all students can achieve high academic standards, when encouraged through diverse learning opportunities.  I will work collaboratively with faculty and staff to meet the social, emotional, and academic needs of all students to ensure we are providing opportunities for growth and success.  I will strive to lead by example.  I aim to demonstrate authentic concern for all students and staff as well as maintain a safe, positive, learning environment.  I will continue to be a lifelong learner and to maintain moral, ethical, and professional characteristics while fulfilling my leadership duties.
