Mrs. Morrison

NAES Music Teacher K-5
Hello, my name is Mrs. Morrison, and I am the Music Teacher at Neil Armstrong Elementary School.  My job includes running the News Studio for daily announcements and instructing 35-40 minute classroom music lessons for all students in grades K through 5.  In addition, I teach a Chorus unit for students in grades 3 through 5. After school I give flute lessons to middle and high school students and in the summer I teach several summer music camps. I have been helping children learn to sing songs, move to music, play instruments and create their own music in Charlotte County for the past 28 years.

I am a professional flutist, and I have been performing in many area organizations for the past 30 years, including the Punta Gorda Symphony and the Charlotte Chorale.

I enjoy photography as a hobby, and love to create images of flowers, butterflies, birds, landscapes and occasionally the wild Elk herd of Cataloochee Valley, North Carolina.  My work has been on display throughout Charlotte County, including the Visual Arts Center in Punta Gorda and the Englewood Art Center, Ringling School of Art. and Charlotte County Arts and Humanities Council’s “Art in Public Places”.

Mrs. Morrison received her BA in Music Education from Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey. After graduation, she taught Band, Chorus and Elementary General Music in New Jersey.  Her students ranged in age from grades one through twelve.  Mrs. Morrison began teaching Music in Charlotte County in 1995.  She has over thirty years' teaching experience in FL and NJ.
